Editorial Policy
This policy describes how Fortune Latina reports, edits and publishes its stories, rankings and analysis. It is binding on all staff and contributors.
1. Editorial independence
No advertiser, sponsor, investor or covered company has veto power, prior review or any influence over assignments, story angles or rankings. The commercial team does not attend editorial meetings nor sees stories before publication.
2. Fact-checking
- Every factual statement is confirmed by at least one primary source, public document or official record
- Financial figures are checked against audited filings, regulatory releases (CVM, SEC, BMV) or official reports
- Direct quotes are verified with the speaker prior to publication
- Sensitive stories include full right of reply before publication
3. Sources
We prioritize on-the-record sources. Anonymous sourcing is exceptional, must be approved by senior editors and requires independent corroboration. We never pay for interviews or information.
4. Conflicts of interest
Reporters do not cover companies in which they have a financial, family or ownership relationship. Holdings in covered securities must be disclosed to editors. Gifts above US$50 and source-funded travel are not accepted.
5. Sponsored content
Paid content is produced by Fortune Brand Studio, a team fully separated from the newsroom. It carries clear labeling ("Brand Content"), distinct typography, is not indexed as reporting, and is excluded from rankings.
6. Corrections
Errors are corrected transparently. Material changes to a published article carry a dated correction note at the bottom. Requests: corrections@fortunelatina.com.
7. Ranking methodology
Every ranking publishes its detailed methodology, data sources, reporting period and inclusion/exclusion criteria. Companies may request data review within 30 days of publication; the ranking is not re-ordered unless a material error is proven.
8. Use of AI
AI tools are used only to support research, transcription and translation. No story is generated by AI without review and editorial accountability of a named human journalist.
